The Echoes of a Whisper by Rhona F. Pienaar -Released March 28, 2005

Rhona F Pienaar explores relationships in her book, The Echoes of a Whisper. The words contained in this short book are not only inspiring, but also powerful. Through her poetry, the author struggles with others as well as herself, but it is the way that she seems to always keep God in the equation that makes this book truly motivational. I look forward to reading more of her work.  s of a Whisper by Rhona F. Pineaar

How to Meet the Right Man...And Keep Him: A Guide for the Single Woman by Charles Villa-Lobos - Released October 24, 2005

How to Meet the Right Man...And Keep Him: A Guide for the Single Woman by Charles C. Villa-Lobos is a no-nonsense approach to catching the right man. Of course, in telling us how to do things right, the author also finds it necessary to tell us what we're doing wrong.

This honest and often witty set of instructions reads true though. As a single woman, I could see the places where my own relationships have gone awry, sometimes before they've even begun. And it was soothing to know that men don't always have all the answers either.

This book is written for women, but seems to apply to men and women alike. I think that many single people out there could learn a lot from Mr. Villa-Lobos.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I would definitely recommend it to my single friends, male and female alike, everywhere.

Behind the Red Door by Barbara Watkins - Released June 27, 2005

Nikkie is a housewife trying to juggle returning to school and two small children. She has a life she is proud of and a husband she loves very much. Above all, everything is normal. Until her eldest son Michael begins to speak of imaginary friends.

At three, Michael is an intelligent and curious little boy. He has the same rambunctious spirit as other boys his age. His parents recognize this, and shelter him from the bad things in his life. But they can’t always shelter him from everything. And, when his nightmares begin to become solid realities, his mother begins to have premonitions.

The only way to read “Behind the Red Door” is with the lights on in the middle of the day. Barbara Watkins plunges the reader into the unknown and gives a sense of urgency and fear to her words.

Although Watkins does an excellent job of creating the setting for the novel, I found myself wanting more interactions between the characters. Michael and Nikkie were well portrayed, but this amazing story had to have its effects the minor characters in the story as well.

Overall, this novel was a thriller from start to finish. It has certainly given me something to think about – and possibly even to fear.

Ghostly Antiques by Jennifer Robins- Released August 23, 2004

Clara Espy is happy with her life until she loses her husband unexpectedly. Pushed to find something to occupy her time, Clara finds herself buying an antique shop in the center of town. As if that isn't enough to keep her busy, she falls and hits her head, unlocking a talent that she never dreamed could exist. Now, Clara is able to see the spirits of those who have owned or been associated with objects within her store.

The story presented by Jennifer Robins is highly intriguing, allowing the reader to plunge into a world that few of us ever consider. The topic is well researched and informative. I found myself wanting to know more every time I tried to put the book down.

Ghostly Antiques will definitely give anyone interested in the supernatural something to think about. I look forward to reading the sequel.

The Naphtali Chroicles: A Whole New Breed by TA Truax - Released August 30, 2004

Through this unexpected, yet well choreographed, explanation of the adventures of one college student, Truax provides a sympathetic perspective on something that the film industry has long considered a topic of horror. Carefully researched legends are woven throughout the story in order to create a more interesting and well-developed storyline that defies Hollywood's overused depictions of the characters. This is one nail-biting adventure that can't be missed.

Gestapo in New York by Paul Victor - Released April 30, 2004

Gestapo in New York is a book that keeps the reader glued to the page. Full of mystery, this true story contains more twists and turns than I would expect out of a fictional work. This story proves that true life is often more interesting than fiction.

In Walks Love by Melanie Rutan - Released April 11, 2005

Melanie Rutan tells the sweetly poinant story of a woman forced to choose between the familiar present and the fightening past. Samantha is an eighteen year old girl who finds herself pregnant and without emotional support. Instead of bowing to the pressure placed on her by her family, she leaves the only home she has ever known and starts a life full of fullfulling challenges and more love than she had ever imagined. In Walks Love is an inspiring look at the strength of women everywhere.

I Hear Gaea's Tears by Tessa Crigger - Released January 24, 2005

Tessa Crigger's book, I Hear Gaea's Tears, is an extension of her own love for nature. Every word conveys her passionate message. The Earth isn't filled with unlimited resources. This book really made me consider my role on this planet as well as the habits that I can change. A thought provoking and enjoyable read.

Online Dating: Intimate Conversations and Encounters by Ethylene Crenshaw - Released January 24, 2005

Ethylene Crenshaw provides a humorous look at human interaction with her book Online Dating: Intimate Conversations and Encounters. Set in cyberspace, this book chronicles the dating and sexual experiences of one woman as she would explain it to her closest girlfriend. The author truly understands her characters and their motivations, and I found myself in the role of that girlfriend, alternately laughing or cringing at the stories that were being told. This is truly a remarkable look into the virtual dating trend.

Daddy, I Forgive You by CJ Wilkes - Released February 9, 2004

CJ Wilkes tells the heart-wrenching tale of a little girl torn apart by the horror of incest. Raped over and over by her father, Carrin faces the challenge of overcoming the cycle that consumed her entire childhood as well as the animosity of her family who never quite understand what is happening to her.

Carrin's greatest obstacle is her own feelings for herself. This story shows not only how the people around her shaped these feelings, but also how she was able to begin the road to recovery. This unfinished journey gives insight to those who have not been driven down this road, while establishing hope for those who have. This was truly inspiring.
