Do you escape or stick it out?
Welcome to the world of Alison Shaw, where appearances into her marriage are opposite compared to what really goes on within her home front. Amey Tippett spins a tale of courage, determination, and the urge to start fresh, somewhere, anywhere but where she is right now, married to a man who abuses her left and right. To all concerned, she has the perfect marriage, married to a rich man living in a dream home.
Many readers will be able to relate to the hardship and decisions Alison needs to make along the way. The humility, the farce she needs to keep up, and the final decision, which will bring a roaring cheer from a reader.
Amey has the gift of prodding you to turn the pages, to find out what will happen to Alison. Along the way, various emotions an abused woman has to endure are felt. The thought of trusting is one emotion Alison needs to overcome in order to begin relaxing and finally letting go of her past. Also, the paranoid tendencies on whether or not her husband Eric will track her down keeps coming to the forefront. One man, Tyler, will do his best to help Alison begin anew. But will she allow her own feelings for this man take their course? Will Tyler have the patience to wait and see?
I highly recommend Alison’s Journey. It’s been a while since I’ve been so intertwined in one character’s plight as I was with Alison Shaw. Amey S. Tippett successfully created an atmosphere of terror, jubilation, fear, and romance all into one novel.
