Spilled Ink is a book of 82 poems on a wide range of topics and experiences in which we can all relate. Poems on love, lust, despair, with joys and also pains. Amey uses compelling words such as these taken from the poem “The Muse”:

“And so I write romantic verse,
to heed this every call,
strangle every rotten curse
bring anger to a stall.”

Poems that may bring tears, and many that will bring smiles. Amey writes with such passion the words pour out right from her heart. Taken from one of my many favorite poems in Spilled Ink, titled “Chameleon”:

“But I am just a silly girl,
with listless thoughts which unfurl,”

Amey spilled her ink into powerful word that create such vivid images. When I started to read “Spilled Ink” I intended to read only a poem or two to start off, only to find that I couldn’t put it down. I read each word in one sitting, then later went back to read it again. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes to read poetry. I know I will go back and reread these poems over and over again. This is a wonderful book to keep on your nightstand, to soak up the words each night before sleep.
